El hecho de que el capitalismo no se centre en nuestras necesidades, sino en el beneficio, se demuestra con toda su brutalidad en tiempos de crisis climática, la pandemia del Covid-19 y el colapso de los sistemas socioeconómicos en todo el mundo. Los que se benefician del capitalismo se enriquecen en tiempos de desastre. Pero con las crisis actuales también estamos viviendo una nueva era de levantamientos desde abajo.
La resistencia a la guerra en Ucrania, las protestas sudanesas contra el régimen militar o la revuelta social en Chile son algunos ejemplos que no sólo nos muestran las posibilidades de organización y lucha colectiva. También ponen de manifiesto la importancia de que los movimientos sociales aprendan unos de otros y se apoyen mutuamente en estos tiempos. No sólo fuera de los muros, sino también detrás de ellos.
Desde el estallido de la pandemia de Covid-19, hemos visto luchas feroces contra el encarcelamiento, que nos recuerdan que las personas encarceladas son las más afectadas cuando todo se hunde. Las fugas de las cárceles brasileñas e italianas, las personas encarceladas que prenden fuego a una prisión en Tailandia y las continuas huelgas de hambre como las que vemos en Grecia o en los campos de detención de refugiados polacos son ejemplos del coraje que están demostrando las personas encarceladas para derribar los muros.
En todas estas luchas, las ideas y los valores anarquistas son el combustible de la resistencia colectiva. No es de extrañar que la represión contra los anarquistas esté aumentando y que la solidaridad sea más necesaria que nunca. El sistema de dominación capitalista puede funcionar gracias al continuo aislamiento entre las personas, a la interminable competencia y a pasar por alto nuestras verdaderas necesidades y deseos. Necesitamos solidaridad dentro de nuestras amistades, en el trabajo, en el barrio, en nuestras comunidades. Los de fuera y los de dentro de sus muros.
¡Rompamos juntos! Por eso convocamos de nuevo la Semana Internacional de Solidaridad con los Presos Anarquistas. ¡Haz alguna acción de solidaridad! Escribe cartas, organiza discursos o proyecciones de películas, haz visibles a nuestros compañeros en las calles con una pancarta o una pintada y hazles ver que están en nuestros corazones y que luchamos juntos.
Recordemos a los que lucharon contra esta injusticia y pagaron con sus vidas.
¡Nadie es libre, hasta que todos seamos libres!

The fact that capitalism does not focus on our needs but on profit, is demonstrated with all its brutality in times of climate crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic and the collapse of socioeconomic systems all around the world. Those who profit from capitalism enrich themselves through times of disaster. But with ongoing crises we are also experiencing a new era of uprisings from below.
Resistance to the war in Ukraine, Sudanese protests against military rule or the social revolt in Chile are some examples that not only show us the possibilities of organizing and collective struggle. They also highlight how important it is for social movements to learn from each other and support each other in these times. Not only outside the walls but also behind them.
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve seen fierce struggles against imprisonment, reminding us that incarcerated people are the ones most affected when everything goes down. Breakouts from Brazilian and Italian prisons, people in jail setting fire to a prison in Thailand and ongoing hunger strikes like those we see in Greece or in polish refugee detention camps are examples of the courage people in prisons are showing to smash the walls.
In all of these struggles, anarchist ideas and values are the fuel for collective resistance. Unsurprisingly the repression against anarchists is increasing and solidarity is needed more than ever. The capitalist system of domination can function because of the continued isolation between people, endless competition, and overlook our real needs and desires. We need solidarity within our friendships, at work, in the neighborhood, in our communities. Those outside and those inside their walls.
Let’s break out together! That is why we are calling again for International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners. Do some action of solidarity! Write letters, organize speeches or film screening, make our comrades visible on the streets with a banner drop or a graffiti and let them show that they are in our hearts and that we are fighting together.
Let’s remember those who fought against this injustice and payed with their lives.
